This morning on Radio New Zealand, Greg McGee was interviewed by Kim Hill (listen above).
McGee is most famous amongst crime fiction fans for his two books starring middle-aged legal researcher Anna Markunas, written under the pseudonym Alix Bosco. His debut crime novel, CUT & RUN, won the inauguaral Ngaio Marsh Award for Best Crime Novel in 2010, and the sequel, SLAUGHTER FALLS, was a finalist for the award last year.
McGee is a former junior All Black and All Blacks trialist who went on to gain fame for his rugby-themed stage play, "Foreskin's Lament". He has also been an award-winning TV screenwriter, working on shows like Erebus: The Aftermath, Street Legal, and Doves of War. This year, his first novel written under his own name, LOVE AND MONEY, is released - a novel set in 1980s New Zealand, which was an intriguing time politically, socially, and culturally. McGee is now working on a biography/autobiography of All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, and will be appearing at the upcoming Auckland Writers and Readers Festival.
